A Deeper Dive on My Journey

College Coaching History

I Coached Women’s College Basketball at the following Division 1 and Division 2 Universities:

Winthrop University (D1)

Rock Hill, South Carolina

USC-Upstate (D1)

Spartanburg, South Carolina

Univ. of Charleston (D2)

Charleston, West Virginia

Walsh University (D2)

Canton, Ohio

Converse College (D2)

Spartanburg, South Carolina

The Full Story

2007 - 2011

Hillcrest High School
Simpsonville, SC

I failed running when running my own recruiting process as a unranked high school basketball prospect in the Class of 2011. In reflection, my effort was phenomenal but my strategy was completely wrong.

2011 - 2012

Winthrop University (D1)
Walk On Player

I turned down the one D2 scholarship offer I had from Anderson University. In hindsight, my reasoning for not going was not right. I went on to walk on at Winthrop Univ.

2012 - 2013

Spartanburg Methodist College
(JUCO) – Scholarship Player

The summer going into my sophomore year, my college coach at Winthrop Univ. was fired and I decided I wanted more playing time. So I transferred to Spartanburg Methodist College. After that season, I ended my playing career by choice.

2013 - 2014

Practice Player - Converse College

I graduated from Spartanburg Methodist College (Junior College) and decide to attended the Univ. of South Carolina Upstate to finish my last 2 years of college and study business finance and economics.

My passion for the game never left and I quickly found myself back on the court. But this time as practice player at D2 Converse College which was only a few minutes up the road from USC-Upstate.

2014 - 2015

Assistant Coach - Converse College

Going into next season, Converse had a coaching change, and during my senior year of college, this opened up an opportunity for me to become a full time volunteer assistant coach for the women’s basketball program.

2015 - 2016

GA and Head JV Coach - Walsh Univ.

I graduated from USC-Upstate, and started a corporate job that was cool but once again, I had a basketball itch and this opportunity found me 1 week before school started.

I moved from Greenville, South Carolina up to Canton, Ohio to be a Graduate Assistant Coach and Head JV Coach for the Walsh University women’s basketball program.

2016 - 2017

Assistant Coach - USC - Upstate

Summer 2016 is in full motion, and I’m grinding it out up in Canton, Ohio to make ends meet.

My position at Walsh was fun, I worked for a great head coach, and I learned a lot, but the job only covered tuition and a small stipend.

I took my first D1 assistant coach role at my alma mater, USC-Upstate in Spartanburg, SC.

2017 - 2018

Assistant Coach - Winthrop University

Summer 2017 roles around, and I accept a job at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

This is where my playing career started and I love the Winthrop Univ. campus. This job was also a 333% pay increase from my salary I was making at USC-Upstate.

2018 - 2019

Assistant Coach - Univ. of Charleston

Spring of 2019 roles around and I decide to resign from my position at Winthrop University and take a role at the University of Charleston in West Virginia.

Easily my favorite year of coaching, and also where I saw a gap in the women’s basketball landscape for my next opportunity.

Hoop Juice Recruiting - (2019 - Present)

After finishing the season in 2019, I left college coaching to start Hoop Juice Recruiting.

This is a recruiting and done for you marketing service that targeted high school women’s basketball players and helped connect them to college coaches and athletic scholarships.

To date, Hoop Juice Recruiting has helped 200 plus basketball prospects get connected to over $4,000,000 Million Dollars in Basketball Scholarships and still active : )

Recruiting Homie - (2023 - Present)

While running Hoop Juice Recruiting, I experimented helping high school athletes playing other sports such as volleyball, softball, football and etc. and found the route to get to getting an athletic scholarship the same.

Most importantly, I found that the price of my recruiting and marketing services was not affordable for every athlete and family.

I wanted to help every athlete and family possible who wanted recruiting assistance regardless of financial circumstances or sport of choice. This is what sparked the Recruiting Homie brand and courses.
